- Social Welfare PortalThe Social Welfare Portal at the British Library allows searching and access (much free, apart from journal articles - use Goldsmiths catalogue or Senate House for access) to key UK resources in the areas of: children and families, older adults, disabilities, minority groups, community development and regeneration, welfare benefits, social services, offenders and the criminal justice systems. Items include: UK government reports, journal articles and reports from research organisations including NACRO, Demos and Barnardos.

- Centre for Disability Studies- based at the University of Leeds, incorporates work of former Disability Research Unit. Hosts the The Disability Archive
- Childhoods Today- peer reviewed, multidisciplinary e-journal produced by the Centre for the Study of Childhood and Youth at the University of Sheffield includes: sociology, anthropology, education, geography, psychology, social policy and social welfare.
- Equality and Diversity Forum- network of national organisations concerning age, disability, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation and broader equality and human rights issues.
- Equality and Human Rights Commission- the statutory independent regulator for equality, human rights and good relations in Britain.
- European Research Centre on Migration and Ethnic Relations- virtual library on migration and ethnic relations based at the University of Utrecht
- Friends Family and Travellers- a charity established in response to the 1994 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act. One of the leading organisations seeking to address the problems facing the Traveller and Gypsy community.
- infed- a not-for-profit online resource hosted by YMCA George Williams College (see below) specializing in the theory and practice of informal education, social pedagogy, lifelong learning, social action, and community learning and development.
- Joseph Rowntree Foundation- an independent non-political body which supports research in housing, social care and social policy. Contains several hundred research summaries. You can sign up to receive their weekly publications list.
- NSPCC- National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
- Poverty and Social Exclusion (PSE)- a major collaboration on poverty between several universities and research agencies.
- Refugee Study Centre- at Oxford University aims to build knowledge and understanding of the causes and effects of forced migration in order to help improve the lives of some of the world's most vulnerable people.
- ROTA (Race on the Agenda)- a BAME-led social policy think tank that focuses on race equality and issues affecting Britain's BAME communities.
- The Runnymede Trust- established in 1968 working against social injustice and racial discrimination.
- SCIE (Social Care Institute for Excellence)- major resource centre for Social Care information.
- YMCA George Williams College- a specialist college for youth work and community learning and development in East London offering courses from pre-qualifying to postgraduate level. The library is a member of SCONUL. Students wishing to visit should apply for SCONUL membership at Canterbury Christ Church University who award their degrees.
- youthpolicy.org- a global thinktank specifically focusing on youth, hosted by the Berlin-based NGO Demokratie & Dialog e.V. Operating at the junction of research and journalism, producing high-quality and well-researched knowledge with the aim of improving public policies that affect the lives of young people.
